I was standing in line just a bit behind this older man who was... not well. He could barely walk, had trouble breathing, brought a folding chair from home to use as a crutch/walker and to sit on while the line wasn't moving.
People kept offering to let him cut, and he graciously waved them off, saying things to the effect of "We're all the same here, I'll stand in line just like the rest of you." The guy next to him asked him why he was going through all this trouble to cast his vote when he could have done a mail-in ballot.
"I ain't done here yet, and I need to see that bastard get four more years to give me a reason to keep pushing on."
The determination of some voters to get their votes in and the American Spirit that motivates them is truly inspiring.
