Gamergate was the first time that many people saw the media take a "lockstep" approach at writing insanely slanted articles and purposefully taking one side in the name of social justice instead of facts. All the Gamergate articles began showing a woven narrative with the same key words, the same themes, the same bullshit, while they all ignored the same basic facts that would derail their narrative.

While I was vaguely aware of gamergate when it happened, a similar situation lead me to the Trump Train. I was a Bernie supporter mostly for his fairly honest record (and extreme dislike of Hillary's horrid corruption) and watched the media do the exact same thing to him, just lock-step against him. They stomped him out at every turn and propped up Hillary. They told me, a woman, that I was a sexist "Bernie Bro" for not wanting Her to be the first woman to hold the highest office in the land. After Bernie bent the knee and didn't put up any fight, especially AFTER THE WIKILEAKS DROPPED that proved it was rigged, I was done.

I soon realized they were doing the same thing to Trump and everything I ever heard about him, even peripherally, was a fabricated media lie. I started watching him unedited and wondered why everyone was trying to stop him. They would constantly twist his words and make him into this big boogie man, and it was all just a lie. All the man wanted was a better country and the more I heard his ideas, the more I agreed with him.

Man hearing how you used to be a Bernie supporter makes me realize how awesome your username is.
