I had a couple things that did it for me. I got forcefully conscripted into the culture wars back when gamergate happened, and even before that when feminism came for the atheist and skeptic communities and just shattered them. I also couldn't help but notice as a bi-dude that the democrats have a massive blindspot for Islam's barbaric practices against LGB people. All of that started making me dislike the Dems, but I was still voting for them in 2016 because I hadn't broken my left wing media bubble. Then Trump won 2016 and I thought to myself, "Well, we sure talked a good game about how the Republicans would never recover from a Trump loss and would have to reevaluate all of their positions, so since I lost instead maybe I should do that."

Welp, I started listening to centrists, conservatives, libertarians, and more, and I shortly became absolutely disgusted with the left, and have jumped ship to being a left leaning independent who's going full MAGA this time around. I value freedom, free speech, equality under the law, law and order, and the right to self defense. All of those are fundamental issues for me and they put me squarely on the right for this election.
