I've lived all over the west side of the state my whole life. Grew up south of KC, spent my teens/early 20's in St. Jo, Late 20's in Carthage near Joplin, back in KC again now.
My wife and I plan on retiring around Carthage. Its enough city for us, good family oriented community, lots of cheap ass land to shoot on.
This is the state we are looking to buy a house in! Joplin area....maybe. I like that area. Lived in Springfield a while back and loved it.
