This was at 7:40am in a small southwest New Hampshire town. The polling venue is an elementary school's gymnasium. The lot is sizeable but was packed. For the first time, ever there was a police officer and cruiser with blue lights running at the entrance of the lot. I drove past, and saw vehicles lining the streets in both directions, so l headed back to the town's center and parked in the Meeting House's lot (in NH, our Meeting House... where civic oganizations can hold public gatherings, is also a church... the classic New England white church with the steeple... the Meeting House, a thing that I think is peculiar to NH. The town's Republican Committee meets there monthly), This lot is about three football fields away from the elementary school's lot. And when I got there, the line of voters was several hundred feet long outside of the school (it was snowing lightly at this point).
I chatted-up my friends who were holding political signs...Trump signs, one of whom was running for a State Rep position had to get back to his vehicle (also parked up the street at the Meeting House), so I volunteered to hold his signs while he ran the errand. Well he returned, so I stepped away and into line (sans facemask BTW, my town did not require wearing one at the polls) and cast my vote straight Red ticket.
The real bonus of the morning came when I met two young men and a young woman (co-workers) who were leaving the polls as I was standing by the entrance speaking to friends as mentioned. These young folks had never voted, and one had announced himself as leaning toward a Bernie Bro back when I first started subtley evangelizing about how capitalism has done more to lift the station of countries, economies and individuals than the Left's creeping socialism/communism ever could or would. And talking historically about Red China, the Soviet Union and their satellites like Cuba, and focusing on Venezuela and their more recent disastrous dance with sociallism and a totalitarian state. I tried not to be heavy handed, just dropping the ol' truth bombs as needed. And lo and behold here were three new pedes, born right before my very eyes. And not just them I was told, apparently two others had already cast their ballots for The Donald also.
Pedes, frens, your work out there has voice.
