New York's budget is trashed every single year, too. I'm in the Police Union here and Cuomo has been pushing off our 2% raise, and other state agency raises, for over a year and a half. Now he's using the "muh COVID" excuse to not sign off on state wide raises for another year and a half.

The problem with NY is Queens, Kings, and New York counties. Basically 3 counties is dictating and controlling what the rest of the entire state does.
yeah NYC is especially bad because "its NY" so the Mayor and Governor are real contenders for presidential nominations. The upsate gets dicked on over and over while the city flips randomly based on how trendy it is to be lib, or how desperate they are to vote repub. because of crime. I live in NYC and it's infuriating - "progressive" liberals will say "Guliani was a racist fucker, but all of his policies worked really well." and "Cumo is a two-faced political opportunist, but its the Trump white house so who the hell would vote republican?"
