And here's a misunderstanding of what a "well-regulated militia" is. It's not made up of splinter groups. It's all of us armed citizens when we're called into action.

When has a CiC called up the militia?
The obvious example is the American Revolution when citizens were called to enlist in Washington's army (bringing along their own firearms).
Another example is the War of 1812, where the state militias played a significant role under Madison and his generals.
