Monarchies worked quite well for 1000 years in the Holy Roman Empire. Even George III wasn't that bad compared to how we've made him out to be. Monarchies do in fact work when you set up a very reliable family who holds themselves before God, and have an armed citizenry who are loyal to the king but also to God.
I will say though, that the problem we have in this country isn't necessarily the form of government, it's the morality and culture of the people. A democracy could still work if people were faithful and loyal to one another, and were God-fearing. Our issue is that everybody is out there for themselves and support the means and the party that allows them to best get what they want. There is no loyalty to the nation or their neighbors and fellow countrymen.
