Rural Missouri here. “Forced” to use a sharpie. I then placed in scanner and waited for accepted confirmation. This is how it’s always been in my voting career. Except for the sharpie, not sure what I’ve used in the past.
The reason people are saying 'forced' is that they were. The ballot clearly states pen. But when people tried to use pen, the poll workers PHYSICALLY yanked the pens from their hands and told them they HAD to use sharpie. When people argued that the instructions CLEARLY say PEN, they got the ass.
