Gentlemen, ladies, let's take a step back and assess last night from a broader perspective. Honestly I think it's a coin toss for the White House. Praise Kek if GEOTUS wins, but we need to recognize it could go either way.
Leaving that aside, even if Sleepy Joe pulls it off, we have much to be thankful for. They can never take away 2016, first of all, the most thrilling election of all time.
Second, we kept the Senate. We are probably at worst going to lose one seat. And we have seen how Mitch runs the show with a majority. Biden won't get shit done. No court packing, no Green New Deal, Trump tax cuts probably stay.
Third, we actually gained seats in the House. This is incredible. And, it will make the House Dems look even more extreme as their moderates get picked off.
This was not a good cycle for the Dems, at all. That is locked in regardless of how the remainder of the POTUS count goes.
Finally, and I think most importantly, Trump has laid the basis for a durable majority. He has irrevocably severed the working class from the Democrats. They are now the party of the filthy rich, the street protestors and the affirmative action grifters. Long term this is just not a winning coalition. If we can channel Trump's energy going forward, we should be able to pull in enough of the middle class to build a durable majority.
