Around here everyone gets an election notification with your name in the mail. It's tied to our national ID, so no fake names. You have to bring that to your polling station and your name gets marked as having voted in the official list of eligible voters.
We still have fraud. Votes "accidentally" get added to the wrong party. Poll workers throw away votes. And so on. For some strange reason these "errors" also always benefit the left.
Brazil does a Saturday and Sunday. Everyone is legally required to vote or you lose your drivers license and other type of penalties. You have to vote. I wouldn’t make it mandatory for everyone to vote, but I’d like to see two-days of non work days and it’s over and done with.
I think early are fine as long as voter IDs are implemented. Absentee should only be for those in the military or government serving overseas during the election process, anyone else that cant be bothered to vote during the time frame provided... Too bad

When you can counter fraud with sheer turnout, at least it's somewhat legit.
And start throwing people in prison for election fraud and forbid them from ever participating in an election again.
And eliminate their right to vote - abuse it and lose it!
I was surprised to see so much support here for voting early/absentee.
We have a day to vote. Election Day. It is never a surprise. It's always the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Absentee ballots for good cause (like out of state military service) are okay. But absentee ballots without good reason are not.

Voter ID, chain of custody on ballots, poll watchers with actual rights, no one party in charge of local elections, etc.

And set a baseline for calling states. No calling 0% states for democrats while ignoring red states with 99% reporting and a 100k lead.
I only ever vote in person on election day for this reason.
