Trump got massive Cuban support in this election, winning by over 100k votes. These people fled to America from a communist country and they know what the Dems stand for.
I'm not sure if there's polls for how Californian expats vote in states outside of California. But at least if our instincts are to be believed, the majority of them still vote for Democrats even though Dems destroyed their home state.
Does anyone know why one group flees from something and votes against it, while the other group flees from something and votes for it? Polish and other Eastern European Americans generally vote for the GOP. I honestly have no idea. People are people so I see no inherent reason why. Do we just need to do a better job reaching out to Californian expat communities in states like Colorado and Arizona? Maybe replicate the success that we had with Cubans in this election, and with the Polish in the past.
Californians lived under the democrat party. They move someplace else, I'd imagine usually because they don't like California, and vote for the exact same party.
Or maybe a lot of Californians are leaving for jobs, family, or other non-political reasons while Cubans almost exclusively come to America to escape communism?
