My mother called saying they were given sharpies to use to vote last night. When they were done voting they had to submit the sharpie back to the people who ran the voting place. Where I live we used ball point pens and got to keep the pens, likely due to covid fears. I live in the cities and my mother lives in rural MN. I have been seeing videos and posts about sharpies causing the votes to be invalidated. I am not clear on a few things regarding this:

1. is there a way to check if your vote was validated or invalidated in the state of minnesota?

2. in the event that the sharpies caused the votes to be invalidated and my mother sees her vote was invalidated, is it possible to request a revote due to the people running the voting place being incompetent?

3. is there someone we can contact about this to look into it? we are normal folks who just wanted to vote and get on with our lives, go to work, take care of our families and just be normal folks. we are not equipped to fight these big systems we have to go to work to pay for bills and food. is there some group we can contact to look into this?
