Honestly as a non-US person I gotta say it's an embarassment to democracy just how much bullshit the political elite are allowed to get away with when it comes to elections.
I'll be the first to say that my country sucks in so many ways but at least when they hold a vote they fucking count the votes the day of an don't start accepting votes cast after the election is over.
Depending on where you are and what resources or use your country has, just being honest about it, that may be because your country is worthless in terms of global usage for most things. If there's no reason to fundamentally handicap your elections to allow for this level of cheating then there's no tactical advantage your country has to offer which is why your elections can be secure.
Compare that to some of the more situational countries in europe and how their elections are starting to be "tinkered with" along with the mass importations.
You clearly haven't been around. Not everything is a banana republic. To the contrary, there are many places where voting is (unlike America) a serious - almost sacred - business, with the population being really sensitive against fraud. So it's not like "elections don't matter" but "cheating is impossible". What is happening in the US is fundamentally a joke of a process. No voter id, vote by mail, counting days later, it's madness.
