Obama was never scrutinized by the media despite starting wars (at least Bush got his share) in the middle east and africa, never blamed for h1n1 virus which was more deadly than covid(if hillary was president they would have treated covid like h1n1 virus sweep it under the rug), fast and furious, using irs to spy on political opponent, blatantly spied on Trump campaing. yet trump got heavily scrutinized for the way he fed Koi in japan. The media and the people who believe the media is the enemy of the republic

Bush's presidency feels like a lifetime ago but didn't the media started to really scrutinize him after 2005's Hurricane Katrina? And I've seen a lot of pundits saying that, in retrospect, this was the media's "ground game" for a Democrat to win the White House and both chambers of Congress.
