Universal voter ID. It's not racist, it's not evil, if you're too fucking lazy to go get a government ID then you're too fucking lazy to deserve to vote.
IQ tests to vote: I know that those get a bad rep cause of Jim Crow and shit but here's how we do it you ask the voter "Do you believe Russia hacked the 2016 election? and "Do you believe God Emperor Trump has connections to Jeffrey Epstein" if they answer yes to either question they are stripped of their ability to vote.
Complete ban of mail in votes and I'd even say early voting can fuck off too: If you were too damn scared of the fake pandemic that only killed 9K people, most of which were gonna die anyway, then your vote isn't worth it. What we should have done instead was done what many stores did: give the first 2 or so hours of the polls exclusively for seniors. That way the at risk people could still vote.
We have problems with our system but we also have problems with who can vote.
And the last 4 years have made me agree with that. I admit, I used to buy the 'everyone should vote, everyone should be able to vote' Kool Aid, now I say you should be 25 or older (before anyone calls me fascist, I am only 23, so I would willingly strip myself of the right to vote), have to be a net tax payer, not be on any government assistance (INCLUDING government student loans), while I'm a fan of adding you have to be a parent, the last one is one I'm willing to compromise on since that ones not as black and white as the rest. Under these rules, you'd have skin in the game to want to vote better, if you can't be on government assistance then you're not gonna vote for a gib, and you'd be older and more developed. I was a fucking Bohemian when I was 18 and have came a long way as I got older and got sober, I wouldn't make some of my decisions at 18 today cause I've had more life experience. Why I believe in the kid thing is because if you're a parent, you have a future as for if you're childless you don't have that link to the future. That's why Angela Merkel feels ok with letting Rapefugees in cause she doesn't have a daughter who's as risk of being raped by one or a son who could get killed by one.But with the parent stipulation, I do get that that one can actually be impossible for some people so that's why I'm willing to compromise on.
I think 25 is the right age to vote. You should have lived long enough to see and understand the way the world and the system really works. I was a naive idiot until I got up into my twenties.
I think that is a little extreme, voting lines can be long enough as it is without having to show 3 pieces of ID. Drivers license should be good enough
I voted in-person and early in Texas. I brought both my US passport and Texas driver license. The poll worker at the check-in counter didn't even open and inspect my passport. She scanned my license. (Texas accepts either a passport or license, but should really take proof of citizenship as a primary form of eligibility to vote.)
Signatures, both thumbprints on any absentee ballot, and on check-in at in person voting(Not correlated to the actual vote on in-person to maintain secret ballot, but can be used later to help put a fraudulent person in jail for the rest of their life if thumbprints and handwriting match on two ballots).
Indelible election ink should be used on both thumbs, even if IDs are required.
Additionally, absentee/mail in ballots should contain a blood stain(via thumb prick), which helps ensure said person is genuinely alive.(Though you could save blood, it is expensive long term). They should also have to write in their own hand
"I, {name}, hereby swear under penalty of perjury that I have not shown this ballot, while filled out in whole or in part"
possibly appending if they insist on allowing assistants " except for a necessary assistant who did not attempt to sway my vote."
Commanding officers, or DOD civilian oversight personnel, may not vote or absentee vote until they ensure all of their troops were given the opportunity(seen them claim they did not have the time to deliver absentee ballots).
Yup here in AUS just try any vote without giving and ID. Kicked out immediately and then fined for not voting. It’s a little draconian but cheating is hella hard.
At least you guys do voting right. There should be a fine for trying to vote without an ID, but fining idiots for not voting (doing the right thing) is shitty.
I have voted so many times in AU and not asked for ID once. I even bring out my ID and they just looked at me funny.
PROS of mandatory voting
Voter rolls are kept up-to-date. If a fake vote is cast for someone else's identity, it will come up as duplicate of the real voter, and be easily detected.
CONS of mandatory voting
People who dont give AF about politics are forced to vote to avoid paying a fine. These types of people usually cast their vote to the politician that MSM tells them to vote for.
Really? I’m in Melbourne and always appreciate me giving ID. But yeah our voter rolls are super up to date. I remember them sending me a card on my 18th telling to sign up to vote.
Canada here. We have very strict guidelines here. Fraud on anything but a very small scale is impossible. By small I mean nil. I still can't see how you can have a fair election without voter I.D. Honestly guys I just don't see how your system can work and be reliable.
Well not to the level in the US. A couple hundred or thousand votes maybe but 300k in a single state? Oh and let me clarify, western democracies. Africa and SA are fucked.
This is absurd. This doesn’t happen in any other democratic nation. The election system needs a massive overhaul.
Most other Democratic nations don't import illegals through simple border crossings and then grant them citizenship and voting rights
Here's what we need:

Just voter ID plus mail-in ballots on request only.
Inked fingers.
We have a better chance of dying with Trump than any of us do of dying of the China AIDS though.
If you have voter ID, you shouldn't need proof of registration or citizenship assuming the voter registration rolls are correct.
Yes, this is how it's done in my country as well.
I think that is a little extreme, voting lines can be long enough as it is without having to show 3 pieces of ID. Drivers license should be good enough
Add another, we must know the winner within election day. Not in a couple days, not the day after, the day of.

Both parties have agreed to our current way of voting. That should tell you everything you need to know.

Well in AUS voting is mandatory. I don’t agree with said law but it prevents shit like this to a degree. Our security is top notch though.
I have voted so many times in AU and not asked for ID once. I even bring out my ID and they just looked at me funny.

what? This happens in every democratic country. lol, which earth are you from?
Voter Fraud has been a thing since day 1. Don't kid yourself folks.

My country disgusts me for many reasons, but I trust in the Canadian integrity of elections. For the most part.
Agreed.
