I have voted so many times in AU and not asked for ID once. I even bring out my ID and they just looked at me funny.

PROS of mandatory voting

  • Voter rolls are kept up-to-date. If a fake vote is cast for someone else's identity, it will come up as duplicate of the real voter, and be easily detected.

CONS of mandatory voting

  • People who dont give AF about politics are forced to vote to avoid paying a fine. These types of people usually cast their vote to the politician that MSM tells them to vote for.

Really? I’m in Melbourne and always appreciate me giving ID. But yeah our voter rolls are super up to date. I remember them sending me a card on my 18th telling to sign up to vote.
