They have federal laws for many other things. Voting seems like an easy one to set the process. Same machines, same rules, 3 days to vote (First Friday of November becomes a holiday plus Saturday and Sunday).

Constitution delegates elections to states.

Because we have states, who traditionally send their own representatives and delegates to the federal government, and hence, have had a great deal of leeway in devising how to do that.

And don't even try to convince people that three days of voting is a good thing. We need to go back to one day of voting, and very tight and quick ballot control, counting, and reporting requirements, which all states had until electronic voting machines started screwing things up.

during the early days, when framers were trying to get the states to join the union,
concessions were made to allow states certain rights.

this is a method to allow voting to never be controlled by one source.

but it allows fuckery to occur, on some levels.

similary, if you lived in cali and didnt like the taxes or rules there,

you could move to say, utah and its different almost entirely.

that gives US citizens, nearly 50+ options to find the state they like living.

except now. the libs fail in their own states and then move to successful

states only to try to make that state act like the one that they left, that failed.

rinse and repeat

You're operating under the assumptions that our government has and uses common sense.

We are a bunch of little countries that come together to form a voltron called America when we deal with other nations. This is a good thing.

The only Federal mandated election is the electoral college, the rest is base on law pass by the state lawmaker (Not Supreme Court PA!).
