PA uses pens. If you used a sharpie, you have been cheated.

Montgomery County location I visited had nothing but black fine tip sharpies.

Wasn't Jay Sekulov asking that Trump voters who were given sharpies to complete their ballot to contact him?

Same here. However, the MontCo ballots were different than the one shown. I specifically read the instructions about that on our ballots (because I brought my own pen and was on the lookout for such tomfoolery) and my ballot said to use a "black pen or marker," indicating that the Sharpie was fine. That is likely because our ballots were one-sided, so bleed-through is not an issue. The "black pen or marker" instruction can be verified by looking at the sample ballots shown online: https://webapp02.montcopa.org/voterservices/sampleballots/Listsampleballots.asp

Yep, I was also at a MontCo place, and I was sure to read every single word on that ballot three times, check for any errant marks on either side that may disqualify it, fill my bubbles 100%, wait at the machine until it told me that my ballot had been successfully cast, etc.

As far as going by what my ballot said, everything seems to be on the up and up at the moment.

You can still see sample ballots on montco site. Instructions to voter: 3. Use only a black pen or marker.

Ballots here are one-sided though, pics I saw from AZ looked like double sided

That looks exactly like the template I got in Virginia when I voted with the exact same instructions about blue or black ink and there were blue pens at every station, because I checked. So it's not just a PA rule. It's standard operating procedure.

The paper isn't very high quality, they'd just weaken the paper. Plus the place would reek of sharpies if they were being filled out in person...Where ARE these sharpies, PA? Shouldn't they be on your purchase list/inventory? Where did they go, because they'll dry up before the next election...so many questions!

Central Missouri had the same instructions.

When has any anywhere EVER used a sharpie on a bubble sheet? Every time I've used one, they specifically required either a black pen, or a #2 pencil.

Fellow PA pede here. I was provided with a sharpie and questioned a poll worker when the ink bled through. I was told that the machine could still read my ballot and, when the machine accepted it, didn't think any more about it. My county shows red for the result so I don't know if it was actually an issue or not. Just sharing my experience.

Edit: I previously lived in a state with Diebold machines so I was just happy to have a paper ballot. It never occurred to me to read the fine print regarding writing utensils.

No machine that is made to count filled dots work with markers, they never have. These have been used in schools for over 40 years. The people telling voters to use a sharpie knew their ballots would not be counted.

This is depressing...our election station in our state/town was run perfectly. And of course Donald J. Trump and Mike Pence were in by a landslide! Well, a pretty hefty percentage above J. Biden/K. Harris any way. How can we help all those who were cheated out of the vote?

They may have counted the first time, but will they work correctly when they scan it for the recount?

I was told multiple times that the only pen to use, and this is with multiple state elections ( I moved) is the pen they give you. The pen they give you is "special".

Every single person who has ever taken a test knows to fill their scantron or form a certain way with a certain thing.

However, it's a simple test. Count them. There are thousands who said there were issues count them.

This is why all votes need to be checked to a person and they can view it. Not hard.

I had worked as an election judge for years in Illinois. This is a very standard type of ballot and it's been in use for a long time. Everyone knows it's a felt tip marker and that should be the only kind of equipment that is ordered or handed out. If there is anything else, it's intentionally fraud.

Yep. It's like using a pen on scantron. These things have been around for awhile and everyone knows how they work. Especially the people running them.
