I had been handed the sharpie for the ballot and immediately thought to myself that it was a nice looking marker. When I got to the back of the ballot (the part with the judges) I had noticed that it bled through from the front, though I figured that they had already accounted for this. Finally when I went to turn in my ballot, they told me to discard the marker. I asked if I could keep it, but they said no. I respected it and figured it was some Corona BS, but it still didn’t sit right with me. Now I realize that I just missed out on keeping a part of history.
