NY State, ditch that crappy city and control your own destiny.
Illinois, do the same to Chicago.
Rural Virginia, join West Virginia, they seem more up your alley.
Northern California, do you enjoy being dragged down by the dumpy south and having your money spent on everybody but your own people? Do you enjoy being pummeled by taxes and heavy regulations?
East Oregon, East Washington. Do something, anything! Join Idaho, make your own state. Just get away from the crazies on the coast..

I know it's a tough hill to climb, but I think the benefits far outweigh the negatives. If they try and add DC and Puerto Rico, somebody is going to have to do something drastic to counter them.

I was just saying that on another thread. Time to break apart these states and leave little blue communist dots across the map.
Depends on where you draw that line. The UP has tried to secede before, to be our 51st state of Superior. If the 1st Congressional District was used as the approximate boundary we'd have something, but we need mining and new industry to take off. Infrastructure is an issue as well, particularly rural broadband.
It'd be an amazing thing, though.
