Just spitballing here, I'm from OR/WA where it's been mail in my whole voting life (so the standard method seems completely foreign), but it seems to me that perhaps timestamping ballots when they're counted might make it much easier to identify ballots that appear like magic in the middle of the night. That way we can go back and retrace the entire night minute by minute.

I want a receipt! When I vote I want a printed receipt with my name and who I voted for. With both the mail system and in person, you enter you ballot but don’t get verification of who you voted for.
