The people perpatrating of this heinous cheating have been successfully lobbying entertainment companies to include messaging and propaganda in mainstream media and entertainment for years.

Ask yourself, what is the more powerful weapon to control a population, the media or a military? There is a reason why the number one requirement to maintain an authoritarian regime is to maintain control over communication. Control the media and the people will fight for you. If the media wants you gone, you will eventually run out of bullets defending yourself. Populist uprisings are mostly a myth. They only really can happen when those in power have lost support from the "keys to power" in the media, see rules for rulers. The press is critical, but more important than having a press is having a decentralized and diverse press that can not be controlled by a few "keys to power", because that's how authoritarian oligarchs maintain power. Unfortunately, our media landscape has become extremely centralized, leaving very few people with vast power. Anyone who gains the loyalty of those keys to power can do very bad things, as we are seeing.

The oligarchs who control big tech and media have more power than literally everything else. No army on the planet is more powerful than Google right now, because Google has the power to manipulate the masses and elect the people who direct the military. It's a dictatorship with extra steps. Their power is only magnified in a democratic system, because crowds are more predictable than individuals, and crowds control everything in a democratic system. This is why they want to get rid of the electoral collage and cement their absolute power.

To highlight the power the media has over our system, just imagine if those running the media were on Trump's side. They would have been playing Biden's laptop greatest hits non-stop on every channel, late-night hosts would be dry heaving in a bucket as they read his emails and text messages on air and showing his blurred out photos. You would have mass riots before people elected Biden. The media controls the people, and by media, I mean about 10 people and their vast apparatuses.
