It isn't an issue. It was debunked. The machines are calibrated for sharpie and pens. Source: I voted in Scottsdale with a sharpie.

"Despite a flood of social media posts on the rejection of Sharpie-completed ballots, Maricopa County officials said Wednesday on Twitter that the markers are "not a problem for our tabulation equipment, and the offset columns on ballots ensure that bleed-through won’t impact your vote."

Did your polling station have scanners, or did you just drop the finished ballot into a bin?

And if you used a Sharpie, did the poll workers give you one and tell you to use it, or did you bring it with you?

It is sounding like polling stations with scanners gave voters Sharpies, while stations with no scanners gave voters black ballpoint pens.

I was an observer at a station with "no scanners/ballpoint pens." It's also what you would expect to be a conservative area.

Almost sounds like Sharpie/scanner polling stations were more inner city and ASU campus areas.

We had scanners and they only had sharpies to use. Apparently, Republican State and county officials are satisfied with the explanation they got. If it was from Dem apparatchik Adrian Fontes, I wouldn't trust it.

My polling station did have a scanner that I manually put my ballot into. The sharpies were waiting in the voting booths and I did my sign in on a touch screen which verified my current address since my license has an old address and they needed another proof of residence which I had with me (old bill). When I was walking around to pick my station to vote, all of them had the sharpies.

Btw, my polling station was at the intersection of Pima Rd and Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale above the 101.

Yes, I verified it online last night with my affidavit # I received earlier in the mail with my mail in ballot.
