As you can imagine I am severely outnumbered at my school when it comes to political views. I usually do not discuss politics with anyone there with the exception of one teacher.
But over the summer he confessed that he would rather watch cities burn than to have Trump re-elected. I told him I think we were through discussing politics because he strayed so far from when we first began our discussions (back in 2015). He quickly agreed.
Fast forward to today (Note: We were closed during election day as we are a polling site and he did not come in yesterday because he taught from home):
I see him walking down the hallway right towards me with that smug, liberal smirk. We all know that look. He's staring at me...waiting to get close enough to talk. I am walking, talking, joking the entire stroll down the hall with students. As we are within range he says loud and proud, "AND HOW ARE WE DOING TODAY? I looked at him with a huge grin and said "I AM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE!". He stopped and asked at a lower volume and sincere tone, "Are you OK?" I said at an even lower volume as I stared into his eyes, "Enjoy the show" and walked away.
When Trump wins, that might go down as the coolest thing I've ever said to anyone.
SUCH a great story. You must be a bit interested in Q given your "Enjoy the show" reference. Do you know of any sites that discuss Q? It's not really a popular topic here but I'm curious to hear more.
