What in the world is this? I live in Indonesia a developing country and our elections are far more trustworthy than this...
Here we have Voter ID and no mail in votes.
Elections are held by an independent election comission throughout the country,not by local government
We have 800k polling booth and each booth have an election worker and a witness from both sides.. the ballot box is shown to be emptied and once voting is complete, the votes are counted in public view and tallied, then a certificate is signed by both witnesses accepting that particular polling station result, then a picture is taken and uploaded to the public website that anyone can verify,
Results for all 800k booths are uploaded by 6 pm election day and anyone can add up the votes if they want to.. and we have 18k islands and mountains and villages out of internet range where poll workers have to climb down to the nearest election office.
But we were able to do it. Virtually no way to contest the election, the way they cheat here is by bribing poor people with money or rice.
This is insanity... i just cant believe you guys are letting partisan local government conduct the election in every state and this is supposed to be the words greatest democracy.. how can people allow this to stand for so long?
And in what world is voter ID racist? here you give your citizenship card to the poll worker and they verify it with the neighborhood residency record... only then they will give you 1 paper ballot to vote in and put in a box.. how is that so hard?
This is the worlds most populous muslim country... and our election is more secure and trustworthy than the American one
Yeah and the early voting here is only for foreign woerkers... in which case our embassies set up polling booths e.g in hong kong central area on the weekend before election day for our foreign workers to vote there, of course with witnesses from both sides.
You guys really should consider what we have here... you give your Citizen ID, the guy verified it with local government residency records, and if it does, you get one ballot, with no name on it, you poke a hole on the picture of your chosen candidate, fold the ballot, and put it inside a big box in the middle of the area (in full view of everyone)
Also anyone can watch the entire process from early morning when ballot box is opened to show its empty,then sealed all the way to the counting process and announcement of the polling station result. it is all in public view, except when you mar your ballot you go behind a table so nobody can see who you vote for
Its all so simple here... i dont know how USA can justify their ridiculous system.. we dont even use machine to count, its all counted 1 by 1 in full public view...
No complicated shit, you just get a piece of paper with a Big ass photo and names of both candidates (many ppl here cant read)
