At which point, unfortunately, the Dem controlled House selects the next President. So, no change. We need to win this shit with 270 in some way. 269 isn't going to cut it.

In a tie breaker, it does go to the house but each state's representatives cast a majority vote for that states electoral vote. All states in this case are worth one vote. Prior to the election, I believe Republicans have majority in 26 states and Democrats have 23. The other two are tied so this would go to Trump.
Though, with the tie, it would go to the NEW house elect. But we gained seats so I think Trump still wins.
Looks like this is right, except the math on the states, which I can't be fucked to verify (I'm drunk). You claim Republicans have a majority in 26 states while Dems have a majority in 23, and 2 are tied. This yields a grand total of 51 states, which even drunk me knows isn't quite right.
Either way, the important takeaway is that the House delegations for each state elect the next president en bloc, while the Senate chooses the next VP per person.
Edit - Actually, DC gets representatives, so that could drop the overall total to 50 states and one communist fucking hellhole, which would make the above totally understandable. I'm going to assume that's what u/GGUWIN meant at this point.
