There are some serious allegations he was actually working with the commies behind the scenes to ensure peaceful transition of power and that they'll be able to turn The Party in a party (which in turn took power only a few years after communism fell and installed their president for 10 years with the best voting results in history to this day).
As a Pole I must say: VERY controversial person. And he's currently supporting liberals in Poland.
