Every situation has 2 choices, nothing fake about it. You whine and give in to gloom and doom or you get over it, rise above and deal with it. That how life works...deal or don't and not dealing is useless. Nothing to do with a bandaid.

You MUST take care of yourself, pede. I know it is hard and things are dicey at the moment, but we would like to have you around to enjoy the victory that WILL come. You can't celebrate if you don't take care of yourself first.

But this slog isn't going to easy on nerves or quick. There may be many more bad days to come before we win, but we WILL win.

Getting some sleep and going outside for a while really would help you. Sleep is a big one.....

Other people need you and you have to be strong for them. Now's the time more than ever to look at ways to strengthen yourself mentally. Maybe go for a walk, jog or run and you can always do pushups and situps. Maybe join a gym. Physical fitness is such a good outlet to improve your mental health.

A lot of us are in the same situation, but we can't control what's happening right now, so it's imperative that we maintain a good attitude, and mind. Here is what I've been doing, which has helped.

  1. Box Breathing - Breath in for four breaths or four seconds, hold for four, out for four, hold for four, in for four and so on. It tricks your nervous system into relaxing. Do it for at least three minutes.

  2. Rant to the Universe - If you don't have someone to talk to, or even if you do, find a time to go into a quiet place, and just voice out loud all of your frustrations, hopes, fears, motivations, etc. Whether it's in the form of praying to whatever god, talking to a dead family member or friend, or just ranting to the universe. Saying things out loud is very cathartic.

  3. Cardio - However you can, do 30-60 minutes of cardio. When you're exerting yourself it takes your mind off of other things, boosts dopamine production, gets you in shape for a zombie apocalypse and will help you sleep.

  4. Find a Quote - I have a few favorite quotes that I always tell myself that always makes me feel better. Uncle Iroh quotes are great.

  5. Remember This is Life - Life sucks sometimes and is good sometimes. It's always changing. In every era, there have been tyrants, and wars and injustices. This is nothing new. People have always had to fight for freedom, for love, for their beliefs. Some people die in the process and if I'm one of them, I will be proud to join those ranks because I will not live on my knees.

  6. You're a Fighter - Your ancestors survived, which is why you're here today. 70,000,000 people in the US are on your side. They see the truth and voted for Trump. This will not be easy, but we are fighters.

  7. This is a Long Battle - Don't weaken yourself with worry. What will be, will be and we'll face it as it comes. In WW2, Britain had the poster "Stay Calm and Carry On" because everyone feels this way during times of war - Helpless, and panicked, but we must stay the course and hold the line. Do whatever you need to to focus your mind. Do not become your own enemy.

  8. Plan - I decided a long time ago that I will fight come whatever may. I have pictured the worst scenarios (death camps for Trump supporters, invasion from China, total techno-communism) and decided what to do in all those scenarios. I have a plan, but also a philosophy - I will not surrender my beliefs, I will not go quietly, I will not be put in camp, and I will not kill myself...unless it's to take out a bunch of bastards. Think about potential situations and decide what you would do. It helps you feel more in control.

We are all in this.

Life is becoming less of a miracle and more of a cruel joke.

You’re mental health is fine, that’s why you’re feeling down. You aren’t in denial. If you weren’t upset, I’d be more inclined to say you were ignorant.

Bottom line, you will have to start looking out for yourself. Fuck everyone else. Nothing is going to change even if Trump wins in the courts. He’s only got 4 more years and then it’s back to the same old tired nonsense at our expense.

Believe me, it’s hundreds of millions of people who are realizing we are in for a world of hurt. Once the fever pitch reaches the point of boiling over there will be huge swaths of disenfranchised men with nothing to lose and they’re going to go postal. That’s the only thing I’m looking forward to. Mass disobedience.

You can’t really camp in the mountains in November. Lest you want to be stalked by a bear or frozen solid, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Hang in there, luv. We're all on that boat together, even if you don't see us. We are right here with you! You know what this all has done for me? It killed the cognitive dissonance within me because ik can now see how much i have been LIED to. I am slowly healing from that wound and getting up to fight another day until the end of my days.
