Gee, what on Earth could possibly be behind falling revenue?

As an observation, years ago when ESPN took over CricInfo (a cricket site I used to plunder daily) the quality plummeted. I rarely visit these days.

It was probably ran by people who cared about the sport and were fans, the quality was a product of that interest.

ESPN commoditized it and to the people involved it was just a job.

I think you’re correct. There used to be far more opinion pieces from experts and former players, on all sorts of aspects of the game. They simply dried up. Ruined the site and I am less engaged with the sport. Shame.
