Voting in federal elections needs to be totally retooled, and then state elections should possibly follow suit.

Make all federal positions go on a federal ballot with FEC under control of the process. Once the parties identify their candidates, the FEC prints ballots and state level FEC personnel oversee collection and counting.

The FEC so should require a federal voting registration confirming citizenship, as states like Cali have issued state ID to illegals. Further, the state rolls are a mess, and there is precisely zero pressure to fix that.

The Federal ballot should be two parts, watermarked, and the voter retains his half to check if his vote was counted accurately the day after the election, through a portal using his half of the ballot.

This stops the ballot complexity bullshit of ballot initiatives and the local dog catcher election.

Then, the federal ballot is a Senator [maybe] and the Representatives off year, and the presidential candidates in those years. Simple.

The counts on federal ballots are done under federal law, irrespective of state control, lawsuits, and chicanery.

Thoughts?
