This is easy to address - ID is required but 100% free. Just tie it to passports and fund the whole system, it literally doesn't matter how much it costs to do this it'll be worth it to have confidence in our democratic systems.

There is really nothing they can do. Everyone here is smoking a pipe dream because we “think” (and in use think in a l very light light way) we know they cheated. Take a second and look at the consequences if they even give it to Trump because of an unknown amount of cheating (even if we proved it without any doubt at all). The other party could hire cheaters for the opposite candidate to get them invalidated and a current elected official could continue to stay in power from it. It’s extremely hard to get a fake ballot that won’t be caught, so if cheating is done at this scale then it has to be limited in scope of people who we could catch and prosecute. The only realistic thing that can happen is a hand count and a ruling to not allow machines.

Ballot watermarks
Some voting systems and some states implement watermarks to be printed on the ballot that are specific to an election or designate it as being printed by an approved printing authority providing a visual cue that the ballot is authentic

Watermarks only partially help. They may make it difficult to simply print off a fake ballot. They don't help as much when you have official ballot printing machines producing excessive ballots.
At least one problem is that a water mark isn't necessarily something you can't fake. It does however make any fraud attempt that bit more harder. It's difficult to eliminate fraud when you have physical access all throughout the system. It's compromised because it's impossible to operate it in another way. If the people running the election are corrupt there's only so much you can do.
That aside we still need to work with what we can detect and watermarks might be one of many tools. Water marks may have a sequence number, date and some other data.
I always put a cryptographic signature on things my machine print that verifies the content of the receipt including identity of the machine that printed it, data and sequence number.
None of these measures are perfect but help narrow the scope of where you need to look for fraud out of the dozens to hundreds of possible ways to do it throughout the chain.
I suspect they just printed ballots twice for everyone mailed them out, registered people themselves from other databases, etc then if they didn't get a return on some then fill out the clone yourself and submit it.
I suspect it's probably also really easy to get your hands on a mail stamp or reproduce it.
You have a serious problem at the moment because the margin between candidates is within the margin of error alone let alone a small amount of stealthy cheating given the opportunity.
Slap something like that on there and it becomes hard to fraud without breaking the sequence for everything printed. It would stick out like a sore thumb when looked at and it looks simple enough that people would think they can easily beat it.
I think you can have the wrong idea about how fraud might be done and how effective timestamps really are.
Either cheating is already afoot or results have been disqualified and I'll explain how...
It's delaying the procedure. It's as simple as that.
Consider I'm in charge of the polling and I am desperate for Biden to win. I believe that it's either like Germany before the second world war and I can see the future so I know that it would be justified to cheat or do anything to ensure Hitler doesn't win. Alternatively due to watching CNN I believe I'm a POW or Jew in WWII captured by the Nazis and in a labour camp being made to construct war supplies. Given the opportunity I will sabotage a detonation device or whatever it is they're having us make.
I'm supposed to hall all the ballots in on the day and then be counting them. When I get close to the end I see it's clearly going to be a win for Trump so on instinct alone I may call for a stall, for more time. I might not even know for what but it's just an instinct to hit the brakes.
Now at this point Trump voters know they're winning so don't need to do anything. Biden winners know they're losing so need to do something. Everyone knows the situation so hopefully all I need to do is give them time and they'll do something.
At this point I start accepting more ballots. The situation is a call to action for Biden voters that didn't bother to dig out the ballot from their mail pile or go around and see if anyone has them. I can probably expect that hopefully they'll make an effort like this. So now I'm accepting deliveries of ballots again.
At this point they can rather than send all ballots delayed in the mail straight to be counted store them in a secret holding area. Sort them by places most likely to go to Biden and slowly release them to the counting centre as needed. At the same time fill some boxes still from late after deadline voters.
They're saying votes after the election will be excluded because they'll use the stamp on the mail from the post office but the problem is this stamp isn't secure. They can configure the date on a machine in cases or use a stamp from the day before, whatever.
At this point the situation is basically out of control. Just that alone means that you can no longer call it legitimate. There's a huge amount you just cannot verify or rule out. They're broken the integrity of the system with that.
If you're really doing anti-fraud it's multi-vector. You actually also have to run your own fraud to detect it. You basically send in many ballots after the date, see if they're cancelled and you need a system so that your fraud detection along the chain of custody doesn't actually count toward the result.
Hopefully it will turn out there are some mail tracking systems that can be investigated or some other methods (forensics of the stamps, etc). The thing is as well I would be surprised if they don't just throw the envelopes away normally disposing of the evidence pretty fast. The only positive is that you at least should still have the address the ballot is registered to.
There are many ways to cheat and you need many approaches to ensure that it's kept to a minimum threshold that would typically not be able to sway an election.
When you see the rate of counting go from say ten thousand votes an hour then in the last minute when one opponent is about to win see it drop to a tenth of that or less in maybe over 90% counted then that really says it all doesn't it.
Also collecting for so long after and not knowing how many there are throws the whole thing out. It's completely out of control.
Think about this too, some states they've had to drag it on for days. Lets say the problem is too many states to Trump so they have to steal a whole bunch. Then what you'll see is with needing to steal so many states some are going to be difficult. In the days since, I swear numbers of ballots to count is still going up. They're basically still collecting ballots. That tells you everything. The election isn't finished for them. They're supposed to have only been counting since election day. The counting has dropped down to the speed of collecting.
It's your old retrospective fix up job and you can do it easily with valid ballots that at still out there but just people never got around to casting. Let alone wrong address ballots in the mail system, etc. Another way they can cheat is they can register voters themselves from other databases like the driving license, etc and send out ballots to people they believe will vote Biden also making it easier for Democrat voters.
Just stop to think about it for a moment. Ballots delayed in the mail system for how many days now? Is that normal? Are they ever going to stop coming in? The thing is normally with this situation you're supposed to be told if you don't send your ballot however many days before it takes then tough luck. The last day to send your ballot is not election day but delivery days before election day, IE you might say send a week before. What they're doing now is suddenly changing that to get in the extra week or two worth of votes for Biden from those who sent it late and would usually not be counted. It's the same as if a Trump voter turned up at the voting centre the day after election day and they let them vote anyway. A deadline is a deadline and you need to keep it constant for voting integrity. If it's variable then whoever calls when to stop is potentially dictating the result.
They believe most mail in ballots are by democrats so are giving them extra time to hand in their assignment and save their grade.
A hell of a lot of ways to cheat. The only part of the constitution that I disagree with is the prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment for those who deserve it such as election cheats, especially those holding the higher offices and that are running it.
Each state prints their own ballots through independent printers. There is no concerted watermark effort.
Additionally, watermarks would have no effect. All the Cheater Party needs to do is to print more ballots... such as by sending mail-ins to everyone in the state... and surprise, some of those ballots don't arrive at the target location. Surprise, you voted Biden!
Yes, but all printed ballots were valid - one for each person in the state. Sometimes 2 or 3 if a person didn't get theirs, or had to request a replacement. Maybe 4 or 6; the mail wasn't great that day. Then a provisional got printed because they were concerned their mailed-in one didn't count. And of course we had to print a few for the voters who registered to vote day-of-election, at the polling place.
But to understand why people hang to it. The 'watermark' part is just colloquial. The actual alleged DHS memo, spoke of a unique identifier for every individual ballot paper.
Each state and even city/county has their own ballots since the questions are different for each state and the candidates are different in each city/state.

The fact that ballots are printed at state level though is completely irrelevant as an argument against this, that doesn't matter. What matters is where they get the paper. If they get the paper from DHS, then the watermark is plausible.

Adam said on the podcast yesterday that someone he knows in the gov/military (forget which) told him that it's true, for what it's worth. There's something they can track ballots with, is the rumor.

I would love to see Trump put in place an auditor. If a channels news items are found to be...let's say 10% fake, they are supervised by an outside committee until they can show themselves to be trustworthy again. Make it simple: require them to put up a large text field that says something like "DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, WE MIGHT BE LYING FOR POLITICAL REASONS OR PROFIT"

Take a second and look at the consequences if they even give it to Trump because of an unknown amount of cheating (even if we proved it without any doubt at all). The other party could hire cheaters for the opposite candidate to get them invalidated and a current elected official could continue to stay in power from it. It’s extremely hard to get a fake ballot that won’t be caught, so if cheating is done at this scale then it has to be limited in scope of people who we could catch and prosecute. The only realistic thing that can happen is a hand count and a ruling to not allow machines.

Watermarks only partially help. They may make it difficult to simply print off a fake ballot. They don't help as much when you have official ballot printing machines producing excessive ballots.
If it watermarked a number that says how many pages it has printed then you could compare those numbers.
At least one problem is that a water mark isn't necessarily something you can't fake. It does however make any fraud attempt that bit more harder. It's difficult to eliminate fraud when you have physical access all throughout the system. It's compromised because it's impossible to operate it in another way. If the people running the election are corrupt there's only so much you can do.
That aside we still need to work with what we can detect and watermarks might be one of many tools. Water marks may have a sequence number, date and some other data.
I always put a cryptographic signature on things my machine print that verifies the content of the receipt including identity of the machine that printed it, data and sequence number.
None of these measures are perfect but help narrow the scope of where you need to look for fraud out of the dozens to hundreds of possible ways to do it throughout the chain.
I suspect they just printed ballots twice for everyone mailed them out, registered people themselves from other databases, etc then if they didn't get a return on some then fill out the clone yourself and submit it.
I suspect it's probably also really easy to get your hands on a mail stamp or reproduce it.
You have a serious problem at the moment because the margin between candidates is within the margin of error alone let alone a small amount of stealthy cheating given the opportunity.

Slap something like that on there and it becomes hard to fraud without breaking the sequence for everything printed. It would stick out like a sore thumb when looked at and it looks simple enough that people would think they can easily beat it.
I think you can have the wrong idea about how fraud might be done and how effective timestamps really are.

It's delaying the procedure. It's as simple as that.
Consider I'm in charge of the polling and I am desperate for Biden to win. I believe that it's either like Germany before the second world war and I can see the future so I know that it would be justified to cheat or do anything to ensure Hitler doesn't win. I'm supposed to hall all the ballots in on the day and then be counting them. When I get close to the end I see it's clearly going to be a win for Trump so on instinct alone I may call for a stall, for more time. I might not even know for what but it's just an instinct to hit the brakes.
Now at this point Trump voters know they're winning so don't need to do anything. Biden winners know they're losing so need to do something. Everyone knows the situation so hopefully all I need to do is give them time and they'll do something.
At this point I start accepting more ballots. The situation is a call to action for Biden voters that didn't bother to dig out the ballot from their mail pile or go around and see if anyone has them. I can probably expect that hopefully they'll make an effort like this. So now I'm accepting deliveries of ballots again.
At this point they can rather than send all ballots delayed in the mail straight to be counted store them in a secret holding area. Sort them by places most likely to go to Biden and slowly release them to the counting centre as needed. At the same time fill some boxes still from late after deadline voters.
They're saying votes after the election will be excluded because they'll use the stamp on the mail from the post office but the problem is this stamp isn't secure. They can configure the date on a machine in cases or use a stamp from the day before, whatever.
At this point the situation is basically out of control. Just that alone means that you can no longer call it legitimate. There's a huge amount you just cannot verify or rule out. They're broken the integrity of the system with that.
If you're really doing anti-fraud it's multi-vector. You actually also have to run your own fraud to detect it. You basically send in many ballots after the date, see if they're cancelled and you need a system so that your fraud detection along the chain of custody doesn't actually count toward the result.
Hopefully it will turn out there are some mail tracking systems that can be investigated or some other methods (forensics of the stamps, etc). The thing is as well I would be surprised if they don't just throw the envelopes away normally disposing of the evidence pretty fast. The only positive is that you at least should still have the address the ballot is registered to.
There are many ways to cheat and you need many approaches to ensure that it's kept to a minimum threshold that would typically not be able to sway an election.
When you see the rate of counting go from say ten thousand votes an hour then in the last minute when one opponent is about to win see it drop to a tenth of that or less in maybe over 90% counted then that really says it all doesn't it.
Also collecting for so long after and not knowing how many there are throws the whole thing out. It's completely out of control.
Think about this too, some states they've had to drag it on for days. Lets say the problem is too many states to Trump so they have to steal a whole bunch. Then what you'll see is with needing to steal so many states some are going to be difficult. In the days since, I swear numbers of ballots to count is still going up. They're basically still collecting ballots. That tells you everything. The election isn't finished for them. They're supposed to have only been counting since election day. The counting has dropped down to the speed of collecting.
It's your old retrospective fix up job and you can do it easily with valid ballots that at still out there but just people never got around to casting. Let alone wrong address ballots in the mail system, etc. Another way they can cheat is they can register voters themselves from other databases like the driving license, etc and send out ballots to people they believe will vote Biden also making it easier for Democrat voters.
Just stop to think about it for a moment. Ballots delayed in the mail system for how many days now? Is that normal? Are they ever going to stop coming in? The thing is normally with this situation you're supposed to be told if you don't send your ballot however many days before it takes then tough luck. The last day to send your ballot is not election day but delivery days before election day, IE you might say send a week before. What they're doing now is suddenly changing that to get in the extra week or two worth of votes for Biden from those who sent it late and would usually not be counted. It's the same as if a Trump voter turned up at the voting centre the day after election day and they let them vote anyway. A deadline is a deadline and you need to keep it constant for voting integrity. If it's variable then whoever calls when to stop is potentially dictating the result.
They believe most mail in ballots are by democrats so are giving them extra time to hand in their assignment and save their grade.

Each state prints their own ballots through independent printers. There is no concerted watermark effort.

Yes, but all printed ballots were valid - one for each person in the state. Sometimes 2 or 3 if a person didn't get theirs, or had to request a replacement. Maybe 4 or 6; the mail wasn't great that day. Then a provisional got printed because they were concerned their mailed-in one didn't count. And of course we had to print a few for the voters who registered to vote day-of-election, at the polling place.

I'm treading softly on this. I don't know if it's true, or part of it, or what. I listen to the No Agenda podcast. Adam said on the podcast yesterday that someone he knows in the gov/military (forget which) told him that it's true, for what it's worth. There's something they can track ballots with, is the rumor.
