You're right. But, it is interesting, though, that if you look at big metro areas in blue stronghold states like Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, Biden got about the same number of votes as Clinton and Oobama did. But, when you come into swing states, the Democrat vote in metro areas (Milwaukee, Atlanta, Detroit, Philadelphia, etc.) was enormous. Up to a 30% increase in some cases.

You can see it in the big Texas cities as well, where they were really trying to flip it.

You'd obviously have to dig much further to prove anything, as cities like Portland, Seattle, and Denver also showed bigger turnout for Trump... but maybe they were scared that if they didn't get more votes there, Trump might actually close the gap?
