If I can get pulled over in Maryland because they know I have a Texas LTC after scanning my license plate (where they then search my car to find a weapon that isn't there because I left it in Virginia because Maryland State Police are commie scumbags), then we can have a national voter ID and voter registration database that updates automagically with citizenship, death, and relocation.

Literally the only reason I watched Rogue One is because Mads Mikkelsen was in it. Hell, Arctic was brilliant precisely because there were two characters throughout the vast majority of the movie, and the woman was unconscious. There was literally nobody interfering with Mikkelsen's performance. Fucking. Epic. And he made a phenomenal Hannibal Lecter as well, a great Bond villain, and I even thought, for all its faults, Polar wasn't that bad either, at least not his performance.

Yep, and I thought he was awesome for the little time he had on screen. I also thought Benadryl Scratchnsniff made for an excellent Doctor Strange. I haven't actually seen a marvel movie since that one, and the only thing within the MCU I have any interest in watching at this point would be any sequel to Doctor Strange.
I think the rest of the MCU films have been above average. Infinity War and Endgame are must sees. Spider Man Far From Home is the best MCU movie since The Winter Soldier imho

Im fine with absentee but it must be for a provable cause (doctor's note if you're disabled, for example) and if the absentee ballot is mailed inside the state it must be signed by a witness, or even be notarized.

That might be better than what we have now, but I want to dispense with the myth that any of us are without tax burden.
First of all, there's inflation. The dollar drops in value by a few percentage points every year, which effects all of us. Second, I think literally every state has sales tax so there goes another 5% of our money. And so on and so forth. When people talk about "net contributors" they are usually talking exclusively about income tax, because that's the only tax that's easy to trace....the problem with that is that income tax doesn't nearly capture the actual reality of our financial burden due to government.
A simpler way might be rejecting voters who take welfare. That would be easier to track, and it would still discourage people from taking welfare.
Some of the most insidious are those with wealth. The most powerful are those that can influence the populace because they have the capability to.
Maybe, but that became what we have now. It didn't even last 200 years. Even the Constitution didn't stop that. A republic devolves into democracy, and democracy into tyranny.
Apart from slavery (which was already a contentious issue when the constitution was written) very few amendments have actually improved the constitution. The outcome of the Civil war drastically changed the nature of state rights and identity and is part of the reason people have such a hard time understand the logic behind the electoral college and senate.
Universal suffrage is a mistake. Going back to sex or race-based discrimination isn't the answer. There needs to be a conditions that disqualify you from voting if you take from the government or don't have skin in the game. We also need to re-assign a lot of what the federal government does back to the states i.e. follow the 10th ammendment.
What comes out on the other side is going to be nothing like what it comes in. There are cracks in our society, very deep racial cracks, and ideological. This is throughout the left and the right, and when it comes to blood being spilt, those cracks are going to break. There is not going to be some lovey dovey unification of the country at the end road. The mentalities of people going in will be different than what comes out.
Maybe, but if you remove the influence of a coordinated media, I bet 1/3 of people would come to their senses. Look at how the media pumps out critical-race propaganda 24/7 telling black and brown people they're victims yet Trump is making inroads to those groups because his way out (reduced unemployment) actually gives them hope and control over their lives.
We don't need to worry about unifying the country, we need to stop the people who are actively trying to tear it apart.

Restricting who can vote wouldn’t have stopped democrats stuffing ballot boxes. This isn’t a system problem, it’s a problem of people expecting a system to take no effort. Asking for a system to fix corruption is like asking to never have to eat and breath again. This can only be fixed by people being engaged and maintaining a culture that doesn’t accept this. After that then we can look at whether the system needs adjusting.

It's easy. "Everyone who registers to vote gets a voter id". It can't be oppressing the poor if they are free.
Next up, do what India does, require a polling place within 10 miles of every registered voters.
And you know what, I even support "mandatory voting of you are registered". If you don't vote, $5 fine and you're immediately removed from the roll". If everyone who is registered MUST vote, then there is much less room for fraud and registering unlikely voters.

I would switch the 5 dollar fine to 'if you do not vote for 2 years you are removed and need to sign up again'. So if you do not care enough to vote then you do not need to be registered...
