I'm a native Floridian of 40 years. We've always been the ultimate swing state, but we have been leaning more and more red every single election for years. We have a Republican governor, both senators are Republicans, and our state legislature is GOP controlled. Numerous counties voted 70% or more for Trump in 2016; one county was 80%! We are definitely a red state now; light red, but still red.
