If they were mixed, that election is now tainted

Poisoning the well.

Democrats: [poison the well]

Conservatives: “hey this well has been poisoned!”

Democrats: “This is republican voter suppression!”

Why would Trump do this?

Could mean that due to inability to determine the winner, PA electors might cast no vote in the electoral college.

Or the election as a whole could be considered contested and it would go to the state representatives in the House to elect the president, IIRC.

Anyway, we need such an order for Georgia as well, as it seems they might steal the Senate there, which would be a catastrophe.

So what happens to the house and senate seats in this scenario? There were plenty of things voted on state by state besides the presidency. I wonder what will happen to them if the election is declared fubard.

7
prospektor 7 points ago +7 / -0

Good question. Maybe only the presidential election is called into question. I'm not aware that there are any mechanics installed to apply to House or Senate races. But there is this process for the POTUS determination. So my guess is they won't be affected, as the contested status only applies to the electoral college process.

Run-off special elections for seats, a few months from now.

2
richmomz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Would probably have to go to the state supreme court to decide.

2
thunderstorm 2 points ago +2 / -0

PA still casts same day votes via voting machine. They would be able to keep and recount those.

2
Silverblade5 2 points ago +2 / -0

The most likely scenario is that Pennsylvania would directly appoint electors. The better question is what happen to Senate and House races that are impacted by ballots being thrown out.

This. Admittedly I have no legal education, but I would think that if the court looked at enough information and saw the results were just obviously fucked (i.e. mixed up ballots, no proven chains of custody, etc.) they just say, "We're throwing all this trash out cause there's no way to know what's real and what isn't it."

Pour a cup of sewage into a barrel of wine, and you now have a barrel of sewage.

13
chuckachookah 13 points ago +13 / -0

The issue is they have been backdating their post marks too.

7
richmomz 7 points ago +7 / -0

They can’t backdate the total ballot counts though - if the SOS office was saying there were 3 million ballots cast at 8pm on election night but they try to claim there was 4 million via backdating then that obviously isn’t going to fly.

ClarenceBeeks 6 points ago +6 / -0

Fine, once that's proven then the entire pool is poisoned. Audit, investigate, revote if needed

Badgertime33 6 points ago +6 / -0

More reason to throw out all the mail-ins, especially those received after the deadline

Wrexxis780 4 points ago +4 / -0

Probably will be a little segregated

10
OutcastSeal 10 points ago +10 / -0

Exactly what they want to do to society. One goes to Gulags.

9
SHALL_NOT 9 points ago +10 / -1

“Wow! How coincidental! All the ballots that arrived late were for trump! Good thing we totally segregated them ahead of time and we had the stack ready to go!”

21
james43552352345 21 points ago +22 / -1

Sounds like we need to do another vote. In-person only, for 24 hours, everyone line up.

13
OutcastSeal 13 points ago +13 / -0

Yeah then watch how many democrats fly there to vote from across the nation

We dont.

So we get to throw them all out.

39
Zytos 39 points ago +40 / -1

Yup. The inability to ensure compliance with the order cuts against them, not in their favor.

9
ManBadOrange 9 points ago +9 / -0

My thinking exactly pede. Indeed

7
CanadianTrump 7 points ago +8 / -1

Only risk is if they 4d chess move and add fraud ballots to piles of trump votes.

I dont think they have IQ above 80 tho so i think wed be safe

6
Salt_n_Pepe 6 points ago +6 / -0

They don't know how to play 4D chess, if they did they wouldn't have gotten caught

5
PepeLeKek 5 points ago +5 / -0

i mean if they show both sides "cheated" guess we have to have a redo that's fair?

5
RussianAgent13 5 points ago +5 / -0

Courts are generally not favorable to people who refuse to or claim they can not follow a court order, regardless of politics.

25
kag-2020- 25 points ago +25 / -0

Exactly. Proof it never had integrity isn't justification to accept polluted results. It's the exact opposite. That's why they did it, they want people to get upset that integrity will be maintained.

3
JeremiahKassin 3 points ago +3 / -0

I hadn't thought of it that way. If we prove the Democrats cheated, it's unreasonable to assume they didn't need to to win the election. SCOTUS should rule that we automatically win, if they can find any legal reasoning along these lines.

27
kebabdrogo 27 points ago +28 / -1

We'd have to go by the reported number from late that night.

After the ballots are out of the envelope and tossed in a bin, you can't tell them apart.

3
ChikfilaFan 3 points ago +3 / -0

This sounds right

Although , would drop boxes?
Although, I suppose there's a way to track down pickup info on those to.

3
RussianAgent13 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes. This will play a large role in finding out when ballots were backdated and finding the criminals.

JeremiahKassin 1 point ago +1 / -0

I believe all mail is photographed now. If it wasn't photographed, it must not have been sent through the mail.
