So what happens to the house and senate seats in this scenario? There were plenty of things voted on state by state besides the presidency. I wonder what will happen to them if the election is declared fubard.
Good question. Maybe only the presidential election is called into question. I'm not aware that there are any mechanics installed to apply to House or Senate races. But there is this process for the POTUS determination. So my guess is they won't be affected, as the contested status only applies to the electoral college process.
The most likely scenario is that Pennsylvania would directly appoint electors. The better question is what happen to Senate and House races that are impacted by ballots being thrown out.
This. Admittedly I have no legal education, but I would think that if the court looked at enough information and saw the results were just obviously fucked (i.e. mixed up ballots, no proven chains of custody, etc.) they just say, "We're throwing all this trash out cause there's no way to know what's real and what isn't it."
They can’t backdate the total ballot counts though - if the SOS office was saying there were 3 million ballots cast at 8pm on election night but they try to claim there was 4 million via backdating then that obviously isn’t going to fly.
“Wow! How coincidental! All the ballots that arrived late were for trump! Good thing we totally segregated them ahead of time and we had the stack ready to go!”
If they were mixed, that election is now tainted
Poisoning the well.
Democrats: [poison the well]
Conservatives: “hey this well has been poisoned!”
Democrats: “This is republican voter suppression!”
"Why would Republicans do this?"
Why would Trump do this?
Excellent.
As a legal 'pede, this pleases me
Could mean that due to inability to determine the winner, PA electors might cast no vote in the electoral college.
Or the election as a whole could be considered contested and it would go to the state representatives in the House to elect the president, IIRC.
Anyway, we need such an order for Georgia as well, as it seems they might steal the Senate there, which would be a catastrophe.

It's only the presidential election that would be affected because it's a federal ruling.
Run-off special elections for seats, a few months from now.
Would probably have to go to the state supreme court to decide.
PA still casts same day votes via voting machine. They would be able to keep and recount those.

Pour a cup of sewage into a barrel of wine, and you now have a barrel of sewage.
Schopenhauer's Law of Entropy huh? Love it. I'm gonna be referencing that from now on.
Don't be so hard on Argentina reds.
The issue is they have been backdating their post marks too.

Fine, once that's proven then the entire pool is poisoned. Audit, investigate, revote if needed
More reason to throw out all the mail-ins, especially those received after the deadline
The ones received after the deadline will be thrown out regardless, the question is if that batch poisons the rest.
Probably will be a little segregated
Exactly what they want to do to society. One goes to Gulags.

This won’t be funny a month from now.....
Sounds like we need to do another vote. In-person only, for 24 hours, everyone line up.
Yeah then watch how many democrats fly there to vote from across the nation
Must prove residency.

No idea, I’m not a poll worker.
