^ This is on point. I grew up without religion, and still don't really have one (in an organized sense), but people will find an outlet for it one way or another. The problem on the left is that politics has become their religion, which is why you see them melting down every time something doesn't go their way. There is a very serious need for devotion in something higher than the state.

Me too. Spent a few years treading water as a pro-Christian agnostic but alternative explanations no longer make sense to me.
