Start with reading Romans. It's my personal favorite book. And dont worry too much about what version of the bible you get. ESV, KJV, or NKJV are all good.
Pray. You're prayers dont need to be anything fancy or proper. Just speak with God about what's on your mind. Thank Him and praise Him but dont be afraid to come to Him with questions, concerns, or confusions.
