My Titan XD is mostly built in the States, has a Cummins Turbo diesel.

It’s sold as a half ton but it has one ton axles, frame and driveline. The only half ton parts on it are the six lug hubs.

I actually thought the Nissan Titan XD was supposed to have the most American made parts.

3
residue69 3 points ago +3 / -0

Beware the electrical problems. Never drive it with a low battery and disconnect the battery cables when charging. Get all the electrical recalls done and consider replacing the Intelligent Power Distribution Module.

They melt wiring harnesses.

Parts for all brands are sourced globally. Toyota sources more parts in the USA for their North American assembly plants than any other manufacture. That’s how they got into NASCAR.

After my F-350. It was a workhorse that I didn't used properly. The best it ever rode was when I was hauling a load of sand and it was smooth as silk. It was a bit rough empty.

I've purchased 3 Toyota Hybrids. I haven't had a single problem other than getting in and out and finding them in a parking lot.

But they don't like flooded streets. That got my first Prius. Got the second Prius because there were no rentals available after (Damned, I can't remember after being hit so often. The 60 inch rain one. - Harvey)

The second one was silver and I couldn't find it half the time. But it ran well.

I got a great deal on a Corolla when the gas prices fell under $1.50 in April and used my Trump Bucks and car as a down payment. I had to do my part to move the economy. Anyway, it's red and a little easier to get in and out of, but it still gets 50 mph real.

6
maga_gal 6 points ago +7 / -1

The Texas Edition Titan is e v e r y w h e r e in Texas haha It really is a nice looking truck

6
Absolute_Savagery 6 points ago +6 / -0

My XD was made in Mississippi and the Cummins under the hood came from Indiana. Tows everything I hook on to it (10k dry camper and all our gear), stable in crosswind, and is honestly the best riding truck (loaded and unloaded) I've ever owned.

2 years of hard work and hard play with no issues. I hate that nissan bailed on the Cummins after 2019.

My only complaint is I wish it had a bigger fuel tank. Need to pick up a 50 gal titan tank or a low profile bed tank.

3
maga_gal 3 points ago +4 / -1

That's a whole lot of man talk that is over my head 😂

8
stormcloud 8 points ago +8 / -0

His Nissan truck was made in Mississippi, has a Cummins (manufacturer) engine (so it could be a diesel) -- which are well regarded by those needing a hauling truck for their power and reliability, which his is (he's got a camper with a 10,000 lb. loaded tongue weight -- vehicles are rated for the amount of tongue weight -- the tongue is the connection between the vehicle and the trailer -- they are capable of pulling), which doesn't get unstable when it's windy out (although he probably has sway/stabilizer bars on his hitch -- I would -- but some vehicles seem to pull a trailer better than others, so he's saying his does), and it doesn't have a bumpy ride (many tow vehicles have heavy suspension, which makes 'em bouncy).

HAHAHAHA. I've never heard that one! My first car was a Ford Mustang, and my friends used to rag on me daily about it.

1
FireannDireach 1 point ago +1 / -0

I have a soft spot for Mustangs. My dad had a '66, turquoise, bought it brand new then. He drove it into the ground, sold it in...78? He later had a 5.0 in the 80's, and my mom liked it so much he bought her one - a '86 5.0, the biggest block they made for them, that car was some serious fun. Never had any serious issues with either. Sister had an LX, decent car.

My first new car was a '95 5.0. I loved that car. I loved driving it, I put many miles on it. I almost bought the 3.8, to keep insurance down, but fuck it, 5.0. Lucked out, because the 3.8 that year had a serious head gasket recall, and that motor was in the Probe and Windstar, too. My dealer told me they had years of bullshit over that one.

My parents also had several Explorers, which were solid trucks, too. Never had any issues with them. 90's era Ford finally got their shit together, they got seriously competitive with things like tires and tune ups.

Not buying another one, though. Heard too many bad things from new Mustang owners. Not sure what my next vehicle will be.

Yes, it is good for that, but only when it is actually running. I had one as a rental car last year. Drove great and had awesome power, until I took it on the highway and went over expansion joints. The thing then started shaking so violently that I would have to slow way down to 30 mph to get it to stop. Tried to return it and trade it out at the rental car place just an hour and a half away, but they were out. The rental company wound up comping my experience. Made me certain that I would never want a Jeep.

Fun to drive but persnickety, watch for electrical system gremlins. Over-engineered, over-priced, and over there. That being said: one of my kids had a used one for a long time, and it was a nice starter car although the interior smelled like burnt crayons (another issue many have with them).

Honestly. Its absolutely terrifying. I've been trying to redpill people here in Sweden with close to 0 progress with it.

Saying that election fraud is rare is like saying that the antifa/BLM protests over the summer were “mostly peaceful”. Sure, the majority of protestors didn’t burn and loot, but all it takes is a few protestors to cause irreparable damage.

It’s the same thing with election fraud. Sure, the majority of districts had a fair election. But all it took was 3-5 cities to be corrupt and the entire election could become fraudulent.

4
MagaroniNCheese 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's assuming the majority were in fact fair. 3-5 were noticeable. I'm in CO, where Dominion is based out of I believe, and so I'm not having many positive thoughts about the legitimacy of our own electoral process.

Don't waste your time. How would they know. The entire Swedish media don't have a clue, they just parrot what they see on CNN. Unless you get your information independently like you do, there's no way to know what's going on. The media and Facebook/Twitter are running Biden's campaign and deciding what information the public should receive

5
pingpongdingdong 5 points ago +5 / -0

Change it to Trump or a local politician. See what they say. “99% of votes they counted in one county went for Trump. 99% of voters over 90 years old voted for Trump.”

That shit should be impossible to ignore.

They probably got them for free. I spent a very short period of my life working in advertising. Sometimes companies will lend out cars to important people for televised events, so their product will be seen by the public and associated with the celebrity.

So say if Joe had declared himself president elect tonight -- all the goofy liberals might be inclined to want a jeep because they saw Joe was surrounded by them. And Joe's "their guy".

It sounds dumb when applied to Biden. Usually they try to use bigger stars. For example the expensive jewelry you see the women wear on Oscar night doesn't belong to them. It's loaned to them by the top Jewelry concerns in Hollywood. They're hoping the star will like it and buy it. Or another star will see it and want it.

I agree. Dont ever buy a fiat product. Every mechanic I see says these new jeeps aren't very good

14
QSWO1 14 points ago +14 / -0

I worked on the early 90's models in a accessory shop. A 25 dollar GM lock solenoid was 185 bucks because of a shit metal bracket that was plastic welded to it. We usually replaced the whole system for 130 bucks. It worked better too.

9
wake_up33 9 points ago +9 / -0

Tried to talk my son out of buying one in the early 2000's. Told him he would sink his money into it. Every time something went wrong it was hundreds or thousands to repair. Had to choke back the words "I told you" so many times.

6

You missed out on the new stuff coming with the "everything computerized" in the new vehicles. The $2000 central control computer that has to operate, otherwise no dash, no signals, no heater controls, and in some cases like with Chrysler it also controlled their stickless pushbutton transmission.

11
schiff_for_brains 11 points ago +11 / -0

Pretty sure that control board failed on my rental Cherokee. It left me stranded. In the middle of nowhere. With the wife. And a toddler. And a dog. Never again.

6
QSWO1 6 points ago +7 / -1

No. I will not ever buy a new vehicle again. My last one was a 2000 f350. I replaced the same mexican made part 5 times, 4 times, 3 times. Its parked now so nothing is breaking for once. Mid to late 70's trucks from here on out.

1
Mashiki 1 point ago +2 / -1

Don't blame you, though the big problem with the 70s trucks is they're gas guzzlers to the extreme. My cut off is 2005, though I do own a 2012 terrain which is mostly used here in Ontario, when I'm driving cross country I've got a nice diesel sedan from 2007 that keeps crunching along.

Obama's efficiency standards killed the 4 liter straight six, one of the best engines ever made. Fuck Obama!

11
brassmule 11 points ago +11 / -0

Obama and straight. Name a less iconic duo.

But yeah: straight 6 was the Thanos engine: perfectly balanced.

6
FireannDireach 6 points ago +6 / -0

Obama's cash for clunkers wiped out a generation of perfectly good used cars and trucks, too.

I really hate that bag of shit so much.

Jeep literally wont exist in the post green new deal. They think they are helping but they are destroying their own company.

I still giggle that Ford “coincidentally” set the launch for the new Bronco on OJ’s birthday.

3

One of my exes had an OJ Bronco. Solid truck. Sadly got wiped out by a drunk in a tow truck, rear ended her, insurance totalled it. She was fine, which is a testament to those bricks with wheels.

1

There are sites like vincheck.info and vehiclehistory.com that you can enter the license plate and it gives you the VIN its registered to. I tried it myself and its the correct VIN and make/model for the Jeep. All 3 Jeeps in the screenshot have never been sold per their VIN histories.

"U" for Union? I would bet they force jeep to provide them a fleet of vehicles for "organizational use".

1

Fair enough. Though I wasn't suggesting that the union requested them just that they might have had access to them by prior agreement. Just guesswork though.

Somebody on youtube said this election felt like the Truman Show. They're absolutely right.

19
PNWArtist 19 points ago +19 / -0

We're living in Soviet Russia. That's what this looks like.

Honestly. I was in the intelligence corps for awhile back in the '80s. I had Russian linguists working with me, as well as German and Czech linguists. We'd go to the border of West and East Germany and listen, and watch.

And we'd study.

There is a reason the Russians were all alcoholics. They lived under the same tyranny the left is trying to shove down our throats, and they felt they had no agency to stop it.

There is no substitute for standing two inches in front of someone's face and telling them clearly that you're going to fuck them up because they lied and tried to steal the most precious thing you own from you.

6
tufftoffee 6 points ago +6 / -0

Nothing will be more gratifying than doing that to the democrats before putting the hurt on them. But alas, we have to wait for SCOTUS to bring justice before we can dish it ourselves.

What's the point of having cars staged in the foreground? To pander that he's trusting of people. No fucking way any secret service would ever let a civilian accessable vehicle that close to any president. It's all a damn prop - dog and pony show. Every damn person at any of Joe's events is a damn paid operative

2
EpicTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

That’s a great point about the Secret Service. Weapons could be stashed in a vehicle to take a shot at the former VP (who will never be President) yeah, I don’t think so. Or maybe they want him shot so he can’t spill gems like “we have the most inclusive and extensive voter fraud network”.🤔

8

Going to chime in with the Jeep/FCA guy, this is local dealer-level shit. Not corporate. Would be Michigan plates if so. Jeep the brand is very pro-US and employs thousands of US workers. Walks softly Pedes.

kuru_clinton 3 points ago +3 / -0

was actually looking to get a jeep since I dont want to wait for a Bronco

2
Donarudo_Taranpu 2 points ago +2 / -0

Don't. The course of my work takes me to many places, car dealerships included. I can set aside the appallingly rude staff at my Jeep customer as a local problem not endemic to the brand, but more than a few times I've heard the staff disparaging their own product as "flimsy" and "pieces of shit" but the worst moment for me was a couple of sales guys talking it up about a customer who bought a brand new gladiator and was complaining about noises on the freeway. Customer is hearing whistling noises at high speed, clunking noises over bumps, and creaking noises all the time. Sales guys are yukking it up, saying that's it's her own fault that she "bought the least aerodynamic piece of shit car we sell" and "of course there's going to be whistling because the the dumb cunt wanted a removable roof".

So take it from those guys, even brand new these things are built to shit specs - and if you buy one it's your fault if you don't like it.
