I've worked in Washington, DC, up to and including working with aides on The Hill. There are lots and lots and lots of VERY INTELLIGENT, DEDICATED people working to try to make the environment in which their clients, the American citizens, can live, live free, and pursue happiness.
Then you have the likes of Ed Markey (D Masssachusetts). Markey is a knuckle-dragging primitive. He may have been intelligent, dedicated once upon the time (I assumed they did not give away degrees at Boston College, but clearly A Zero See? has demonstrated that this is no longer the case), but he is now in a state of trying to put everybody in a cage before they come to put him in a cage. And he is surrounded by The Boston Democrat Mob which will enforce his Representative-for-Life position.
If any truly Constitutional leader were to rise up in Massachusetts and gain ground, the likes of Ed Markey would be washed away like sand castles in the tide. Of course, the 2/3 of Massachusetts citizens who depend upon a check from the Government may also rise up in fear.
I love my home, friends and family, but hate the politics in MA. Thankfully I'm in suburban western MA, and the politically landscape is balanced, unlike that Boston area shithole.
