I would wager that blacks owned MORE percent wise in 1865 than now. Wealth inequality is insane now for everyone, with less than 1% owning about 43%. The top 10% owning 70% and the bottom 50% owning less than 1.6%.
So yeah, it wasn't anywhere near that crazy in 1865, and a ton of white wealth evaporated with slavery ending.
I think he's just trying to make the point that "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."(Henry Ford quote). Meaning, black people keep voting for democrats and are still waiting for them to deliver, which is not going to happen.
I seriously doubt those stats. No way in hell that's accurate. 1865 is too high, and 2020 is too low.
