I thought he deserved clemency just because what he was accused/convicted of was literally the least criminal thing anyone has done filling a Senate seat in the last 100 years.

He had something of great political value, and according to the tapes used to convict him, he wanted some political value out of the appointment. Not cash, drugs, or blowjobs, just a favor for a favor.

Icky? Sure, but criminal? Not compared to his cellmates in the governors wing of his prison.

His action doesn’t come close to some of the mayors of Chicago,Baltimore,Atlanta,D.C.it might seem like a harsh statement but these cities mirror third world corruption.
