What does the leading digit refer to in the vote count charts?

Edit: I understand the concept involved, but I don’t know what statistic those particular charts reference.

So, let's say that ten things can happen every time you do something, like if you crunch a Doritos, how many pieces will it crumble into?

This applies to everything that has a multiple-outcome occurrence

This law states that before you can get to two pieces you have to have one piece.

And before it crumbles into 3 pieces it has to have crumbled into 1 and then 2, etc

Since 1 occurs before 2, it will occur more often.

Trump's variance follows this law, in every state. Biden's does not follow it in almost all the states.
