You don't stop watching, you start pirating.

Look up:

Plex, Radarr, Sonarr,Jackett, qBitorrent, and a VPN

That should get anyone started here.

(VPN IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP, YOU NEED PROTECTION)

Also, there are many streaming sites where you can watch series and movies for free and without advertising, if you use an adblocker. Torrenting might be illegal, streaming isn't.

I use streamonhd.me, but there are many others.

Hollywood will never get another cent from me.

Torrenting is not illegal. Torrenting movies without authorization is illegal, and so is streaming them.

That fucks over the streaming site while Hollywood still gets paid. Better to pirate and only hurt Hollywood.

Can you tell me what adblocker works best with those in your experience?

15
AWeekendAtBidens 15 points ago +15 / -0

For my web browser I use uBlock origin. On my phone I use Brave browser with built-in adblock.

2
Lurkmoar347 2 points ago +2 / -0

Brave browser comes with a built in adblocker that works great.

Those are great options if you primarily watch stuff on your laptop/pc

I like to stream to my living room TV. I also share with my technologically impaired parents.

Plex is the easist and cleanest. Automatically organizes everything, just download to the folders. The only thing I cheat on is media since they all hate us, feels good to steal from them.

Look into kodi

https://kodi.tv/download

There's also plugins for pirates.

I have one of my PC outputs going into my Xbox One HDMI In - when I want to watch something on my TV, I flip the audio to HDMI on my PC, tell my Xbox to Watch TV and start the video on the PC.

Fuck yeah. This guy pirates

Grab a

  1. raspberry pi,
  2. sd card (I use at least 32GB)
  3. download/grab this image: https://libreelec.tv/downloads_new/
  4. and follow these install directions: https://wiki.libreelec.tv/libreelec_usb-sd_creator

And you will then have Kodi media player. From here you can install plugins(they are like chrome extensions) like Fen, Elementum, cloudTV. (There's so much more that comes with KODI)

From here you can now remove netflix, amazon, hulu, etc....

*Note: You should use a VPN when torrenting! (NORDVPN, ProtonVPN, there are plenty to choose from.... choose.... wisely)

I used to love Kodi. But I realized that Plex had support on modern streaming devices (like Apple TV and Fire TV)

So i switched and havn't looked back.. the only thing I miss are the plugins.. but I personally don't really see myself using them.

Plex is amazing given that it’s free.

3
Cyer6 3 points ago +3 / -0

Same. I just use Plex for my media server and there's so much free content out there to put on my Roku's that I don't need more. Spending all day and night watching TV is not what I want to be doing with my free time.

6
magapixel 6 points ago +6 / -0

Hell yeah!

Look into Jellyfin rather than Plex.

Also usenet over SSL and you won't have to worry about a VPN.

6
TheironToaster 6 points ago +6 / -0

PLEX, VMWare, qBitorrent and Private internet access as a VPN. you will be watching your tv shows and movies for pennies compared to what you pay now and you don't have to watch commercials!

https://torrentfreak.com/best-vpn-anonymous-no-logging/

That'll help you out. No logging is top, especially if it's been proven in court.

There was surprisingly little indoctrination in the mandalorian. The character himself is an prime example of rugged individualism - which is our model of what a man should be - contrary to the idea of the collectivists who think we should be child-people dependent on the state.

Also I'd guess most of us are immunized against any forms of indoctrination by now.

I watched the first season of The Boyz and it was ok, mild political undertones but overall .. ok.

Season 2?

Holy shit they went off the deep end. Didn't finish it.

The hero has to wear a mask whenever he's around other people.

12
The_kool_mom 12 points ago +13 / -1

But he was also alpha AF but wanted to save a baby. It was technically a helmet, not a mask. I get what you’re saying, but it had the least obvious Woke bullshit of any recent show.

10
NazisWereSocialist 10 points ago +11 / -1

That’s been canon for decades it’s not covid related

4
Brynjolf-of-Riften 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's not woke bullshit, Mandalorian started before the Kung Flu. Mandos, even pre-Disney canon typically wore their helmets more often than not.

grayadamson 22 points ago +22 / -0

The indoctrination only works on those susceptible to it. Most of the time it just puts me off and I stop watching because the quality has been compromised by ‘progressive’ messaging.

Latest example would be “Star Trek” Discovery. I tried to like it. It’s just too unlikeable.

5
BurgerChef90 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is what I was going to say. Indoctrination won’t happen unless you let it.

I don’t mind watching movies and shows even if people here say it’s indoctrination material because I know I won’t fall for it and let it change my mind.

Support for gay marriage went from massive disapproval to massive approval in less than twenty years.

2
grayadamson 2 points ago +2 / -0

It also helps you see how their thought process works. Know thy enemy and all that.

1
you_can_do_it 1 point ago +2 / -1

The problem is you watching it normalizes it those around you (your family + kids) who may be vulnerable. You also pump their viewer number increasing the funding they receive to make more of it. It is a spider web type thing.

6
throwaway-5947375959 6 points ago +10 / -4

This. It's not a coincidence that Disney releases The Mandalorian, a mega-budget Star Wars TV show glorifying a hero whose culture forces him to wear a mask whenever he's around other people, right before goverments around the world start enforcing mask mandates.

3
MyTeenageBody 3 points ago +7 / -4

There isn’t anything indoctrinating in the madalorian

16
MyTeenageBody 16 points ago +16 / -0

Have you ever watched Star Wars? Wearing a helmet and a little face mask are two different things.

5
Saphrax 5 points ago +5 / -0

And? Have you not played Halo?

2
BurgerChef90 2 points ago +2 / -0

The Mandalorian came out way before the pandemic hit. So that’s a bit of a stretch, don’t ya think?

Raspberry pi-hole connected to my router, any device on my internet gets no advertisements unless I whitelist it. So any major streaming service, internet browser, all ad free. But I'll still be able to support YouTuber/Twitch Streamers

4
4bfd6g5h4df54hgds6f5 4 points ago +4 / -0

I love pi-hole but unfortunately it's unable to block ads served directly from the website's servers. (if it did it would block the whole site)

Good example is Youtube.. all the ads are served from a Youtube domain.

I personally kept the pihole so that my wife and I don't get ads on news websites, especially on mobile.

How bold of you to assume I wasn’t doing that from the beginning
