Grab a

  1. raspberry pi,
  2. sd card (I use at least 32GB)
  3. download/grab this image: https://libreelec.tv/downloads_new/
  4. and follow these install directions: https://wiki.libreelec.tv/libreelec_usb-sd_creator

And you will then have Kodi media player. From here you can install plugins(they are like chrome extensions) like Fen, Elementum, cloudTV. (There's so much more that comes with KODI)

From here you can now remove netflix, amazon, hulu, etc....

*Note: You should use a VPN when torrenting! (NORDVPN, ProtonVPN, there are plenty to choose from.... choose.... wisely)

I used to love Kodi. But I realized that Plex had support on modern streaming devices (like Apple TV and Fire TV)

So i switched and havn't looked back.. the only thing I miss are the plugins.. but I personally don't really see myself using them.

Plex is amazing given that it’s free.

Same. I just use Plex for my media server and there's so much free content out there to put on my Roku's that I don't need more. Spending all day and night watching TV is not what I want to be doing with my free time.
