I used XBMC (Kodi) up until 2016. But wasn't impressed with the lack of app support on smart tv devices (Apple TV and Fire TV)

So i switched to Plex.

Shouldn't there be plenty of pirate servers for plex?

Sorry I'm not very knowledgeable i this area. My TV is directly hooked to my tower and I haven't watched programmed TV since a decade. I stream everything.

Plex is a media manager. It does not download anything, you need to provide your own files from either ripping from DVD or Bluray. Downloading a digital copy, or pirate.

Kodi is different as it has plug ins you can get that allow you to watch pirate TV.

This is probably why Plex is on a lot of app stores and Kodi isn't..
