The post makes sense logically, but SCOTUS would never say "welp, at midnight DJT was ahead, so that's that. see ya, bitches". Republicans control 29 state legislatures and Democrats control 19. 2 are split. I think every state under scrutiny in this election has a Republican legislature.
Keep in mind, this is also the Constitutional replacement system for POTUS/VP (not the 20th Amend); So congress can set a Time(frame) for States' Legislatures to appoint their Electors, congress can set the Date which Electors vote; and these are signed/sealed(like a jury verdict) and sent into the nation's capital to be tallied, and revealed in front a joint session of congress.
