I'm relatively new to arms - but you would use FMJ in battle? I use those for range shooting and bought a bunch of hollow points for real battle... is that the wrong approach?
In a battle you use what you have. Shit man I have ball and cap pistols, if I’m out of rounds ( which won’t happen ) those bitches are coming down from the wall.
I only have 40 hollow tips right now. Cost me 35 for 20 rounds. I would love to keep going but im spending a fortune just on the fmjs. I only keep the 8 round mag for the shield with hollow points as of now.
Midway has Speer Gold Dot G2 for $240 for 200 rounds. 135 grain. It's not great but it is not too bad either, these days. I bought some, any ways... :-)

Thats the best, but most expensive approach. A mag or two of JHP for home defense is probably sufficient.

Unfortunately, i'm sitting on a few cases of OTM and very little JHP, maybe 2 boxes cuz of the shortage but it's all gonna fly if it comes down to it.

Thank you I appreciate that!
Well it looks like they just sold out. Hopefully you got the last box!
Shoot a few boxes of the HPs just to verify they run in your gun. Then use the FMJs as range/training ammo. Dry fire at home to practice your draw and manipulations.
