Why? Becouse a thought models that allows you to filter information quickly and efficiently is a nessesity.. if that model helps people predict and prepare for what's coming in a mostly beneficial manner it's useful and right...

think of it like primitive people assigning a foul spirit as the reason why a particular water source makes them sick...Does it matter if it's not a spirit but rather an arsenic deposit that's making them sick? What matters most is not drinking that water, remembering why and communicating that information to others in an easy and effecient manner...

conspiracies are real and conspirators are the authors of much of human history...looking for them is good anf being wrong in some particulars doesn't take away from the usefullness of looking and noting significant patterns in power particularly unusual and notable changes...

Societies and cultures decide who lives and who dies so it's a act of survival to process and create predictive theories even when they may be flawed in some way..
